Therapy sessions will conveniently take place on the phone, either by regular call or online voice call. I also offer consultation by writing, if that is more desirable. I have a short waiting (1-2 weeks) time now, as I just started receiving clients. Research and experience show that psychotherapy on the phone or by writing can be as helpful as psychotherapy face-to-face. It can be a very convenient option for some clients, and that is why I offer this simple psychotherapy solution. No transportation. No video set-up. Just a simple, helpful call or mail.
Psychotherapy consultation by writing
If you express yourself better through writing than in spoken language, consultation by writing can be a suitable option for you. Experience shows that some, if not many, individuals find it easier to express their thoughts and feelings through writing, so you are definitely not the only one.
A psychotherapy consultation by writing with me happens via secure mail, so you can securly send mails to me with personal information. If interested in knowing more detail about this psychotherapy option, pleace contact me via e-mail or the contact form. Prices are listed on "prices" page.
Psychotherapy in multiple languages
The therapy session can be in English, Danish, and/or mixed with Iranian-Farsi if need be. I also understand some Spanish, so if you need to express yourself partly in Spanish, it could work too. If you speak in Farsi or Spanish, I will answar back in English or Danish, in order to ensure a smooth process in the conversation.
I am mostly inspired by Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which are evidence-based methods. Also, I draw some inspiration from psychodynamic theories. In therapy, I provide a comfortable atmosphere for my clients to share and talk about their topics of interest. It is not expected that you know exactly what you want to talk about or work on, and we can figure that out together. During a session with me, you can gain a better understanding of yourself as well as be able to take on a new perspective on aspects in your life that seem confusing or hopeless to you. I can give you strategies and tools that supplement your already-existing strengths and resources. You are the expert in your own life, and I will happily provide guidance.
What is ACT, CBT, and psychodynamic therapy?
In Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), we look at how the client can be more present with their thoughts and emotions, without changing them or getting very overwhelmed by them. We also identify the client’s values and how to live according to them. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can also improve a person’s mental health by challenging or changing unhelpful thoughts, behaviors, and emotions they may have. It is a problem-based approach, particularly associated with depression and anxiety. In CBT, we will work on how the client can utilize constructive and effective coping skills. Psychodynamic therapy involves finding patterns in emotions, thoughts and beliefs in order to better understand oneself and to be more aware of one’s reactions to different situations.
